If you love animals, especially cats, you will enjoy this cozy mystery series

The peace and quiet of Little Hamilton is about to be shattered. June is the month of the enormous YorkFest music festival, an annual excuse for camping, partying, merriment … and even murder.
When a man is murdered in their tent, all evidence points towards his girlfriend as the culprit. She pleads innocence, and calls on Patricia Lansbury, the village’s resident sleuth, to find the real murderer. But as the mystery unfolds, Pattie is met with more questions than she is answers. For example, how is a drunken farmer involved? Could there be one – or more – murders in the heaving festival campsite? And why does Pattie’s gut tell her that the farmer’s cat is the key to solving the whole mystery?

Cats? Did someone say cats? Next to chocolate and often above it, cats are my favorite things. I picked up book No. 2 in this series, which is like walking into a movie half an hour late. The character of Patricia (I don't know her well enough to call her Pattie) seems to be the village busybody, who has had a somewhat unfortunate and sad goings-on involving one of her sons. She tends toward being on the dumb side, as she thinks being in her mid-50s means her life is over as far as loving and being loved is concerned. This is utter nonsense! Love can happen at any age.

The author makes the same mistake many authors today do. There is 'alright' and 'all right.' They differ in meaning and it is best to look each up and then decide which to use. She also writes "more fool him." No. It is "more fool he." And, "If you have a lawyer it is best to have them present." No. "A lawyer" is not "them" but "he or she." Singular nouns do not take plural pronouns. A cat does not give a "hopefully" look, but a "hopeful" look. It is not "between Isabelle and I" but "between Isabelle and me."Finally, "tickling so-and-sos behind the ear." I would just leave the 's' off. An interesting little tale (tail), even with the mistakes.

I might be tempted to read another of this author's cattails.

A delightful cozy mystery where the resident cat lady does the sleuthing. Easy, fun reading. Thank you!
This was a cute, quick read. I always enjoy reading books with animals, kitties in particular. Nice to curl up with on a rainy afternoon. With a book too! 😻
This was a wonderful mystery and funny and warm. For those that love cats this is the book for you. I found this book to be engaging and fluffy. The cat becomes the key to the mystery.
I gave this story a four star rating because, although quite enjoyable, it just had too many places where the editing wasn't very good. If those were fixed.....
Not really much to tell with out giving too much away, really. Some festivities abound in a little hamlet in England when murder most foul shows up to spoil the fun. Some kitties help crack the case and put the baddies away. Oh and some nice human types help the kitties. But mostly it was the kitties. ;3
The town is celebrating it's annual song festival and there is of course a huge crowd of people enjoying the festivities. And then, of course, along comes a murder. You are fairly certain you know who the perpetrated is but have no proof. Enter Pattie and a clever neighbour cat. This is an entertaining well devised mystery story with lots of suspects and the neighbor cat playing a big part in solving the crime. Enjoy.
So nice to have literary characters of a "certain" age not portrayed as incapable of an intelligent thought. For cat lovers, or pet lovers in general, a fun easy read. Nice for a quiet afternoon or rainy day. Doesn't require a lot of thought while it does keep it interesting.
